Life Lessons from Movies

Shazam! (2019) is a fantasy directed by David F. Sandberg about Billy Baston (Asher Angel), a boy who gains the powers of a superhero, Shazam (Zachary Levi), while searching for his family.

Life Lesson:

“Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.”

—  Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr.

Movie Scene:

Rosa: Just scares me thinking of him out there all alone.

Victor: This is what he does, Rosa. Difference is, when they find him, we’ll be the first to take him back, with open arms.

Rosa: Didn’t even make it two days. Not even two days.

Victor: Baby, we did our fair share of running off back when. At least I did. Even Mary did it. Twice. That second time she ran off, you said something to me I’ll never forget. You said, ‘it’s not a home, until you call it a home. It’s something you choose.’ All we can do is give him a place full of love. Whether he chooses to call it a home, that’s up to him.
